ABOUT LAURIE LEE HALL

Laurie Lee Hall, Architect is a creative and sensitive design professional motivated to create richly resilient communities, providing high quality of life. She is inspired by principles of new urbanism, including traditional neighborhood structure, walkability, connectivity, mixed-use and diversity, and sustainability.

Ms. Hall was trained in architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Upstate New York, with particular emphasis on preservation and adaptive reuse of existing structures, principles of classism and traditional design. A practicing architect for over thirty years in New York and Utah, her career has spanned carefully listening to a family’s needs for their new home, to managing worldwide design and construction programs for major corporations. One client recently wrote of her, “I can speak to her ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively with the client's senior leadership. Most impressively, she does the same with end-users of the space she is designing. She grasps governing principles quickly and continues to see their implications as she gets into detail.” Ms. Hall dedicates her practice to the thoughtful creation of exceptional residential and work environments, neighborhoods, and communities.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

“Each new project is an opportunity to bring into physical form the deepest desires and aspirations of its owner." – Laurie Lee Hall

Every client deserves to be listened to and heard through a thoughtful discernment process tailored to their communication style. Ms. Hall takes the time to know her clients and their vision for their project, she is adept at drawing out aspirations and prioritizing expectations. Of this project phase, one client wrote, “I was therefore grateful for the demeanor and manner in which she interacted with me. She knew the programming and operational questions I needed to answer. She was always easy to work with and exceptionally competent. ”Ms. Hall expertly captures the results of needs discernment and shares them with each client for review before any design solution is fashioned.

CLIENT NEEDS DISCERNMENT

DESIGN PRECEDENT RESEARCH

“Thoughtful conceptual design springs from a combined study of context and precedent, thus yielding a solution which is both uniquely new and appropriately grounded”. – Laurie Lee Hall

Once the client’s vision is understood, carefully researching precedent works and site context gives life to proposed design concepts and grounds them to other known exceptional design. Central to Ms. Hall’s work is a commitment to an architecture that reinterprets the past to serve contemporary life; building in a timeless fashion that endures in value.

HOLISTIC SOLUTIONS

High-Quality Design requires far more than achieving aesthetic beauty, it requires holistic integrity integrating all aspects of style, proportion, detail, materiality, functional equipment, and technology”. – Laurie Lee Hall

Ms. Hall is passionate about the intrinsic beauty that occurs when all elements of a building’s design features and system harmonize into a complete whole. She expertly designs fully integrated solutions which are peaceful, restful, and seamless.
Such solutions are always more efficient to construct saving client’s time and money. An “Out of the Box” thinker, Ms. Hall is constantly considering the most effective way to solve a design problem.
Said one client, “Laurie was willing to take on seemingly unsolvable problems, and she was able to find workable and affordable solutions, that also add to the beauty of our home. We are so appreciative of her skill, experience, and very creative expertise in designing beautiful projects, and knowing all that is needed to make them happen.”

TOTAL PROJECT DELIVERY

“I thrill at the prospect of conceiving, but I do equally love the joy of crafting!” – Laurie Lee Hall

Ms. Hall uniquely embodies both the soul of the designer, and the heart of the builder. She remains devoted to the completion of every project until the owner is satisfactorily enjoying its intended use.

Concerning project delivery, a client shared, “She had the respect of my staff as well as the architectural firms and contractors she brought in to the project. She worked with a small administrative staff in an incredibly effective manner to accomplish a very large project, which is on schedule and on budget.”

Throughout her years of practice Ms. Hall has worked seamlessly in both the roles of lead designer and project construction manager. She has deep insight into constructability, budget and schedule management, providing every client with a thoroughly satisfying total project experience.
